First Against Tthe Wall

Does Miranda -vs- Arizona apply to dead guys?

One of the problems with macho rhetoric is that it tends to be somewhat imprecise. Okay, I realize how much politicians love to sell woof-tickets; I realize that this is probably nothing more that a matter of semantics; and, I realize that referring to criminals as "perpetrators" is really cool sounding macho cop type jargon. But, guys, it sounds really dumb when you say that you are going to track down the "perpetrators" of the September 11th terrorist attacks and bring them to justice. Yo, dudes, the guys who "perpetrated" (physically committed) the attacks were in the planes. They're dead! What are you going to do, track down the smear, round up their remains with a sponge and wring them out in a cell? How about we knock off all the macho cop show rhetoric and get out there in the real world and start looking for things like accessories (before and after the fact), conspirators, and, in general, people who aided and abetted the perpetrators? i.e. Bankers, lawyers, royal princes, oil sheiks.
